That was insane. Serial killers and some cookies and cream ice cream for the win I guess
Yeah the second installment of this series was just as bad as the first.
Silver bars of magic based in translation is a phenomenal way to explore the ideas of oppression based in race and gender through academia. Though slow placed in the beginning, it’s worth the wait and eventually leads to a sad (yet almost hopeful?) ending.
Scott Jurek wouldn’t be who he is without Dusty
3.5 (so rounding to 4)
Look I feel like the whole vampire aspect was a bit too much. Any fantasy novel is going to have some world building to do and that is understandable. However, this seemed to drag on. The second the characters get to the war camp, everything picks up and it feels like now the novel has started and this was at about 75% through the book.
The 3 being connected and colluding the whole time wasn’t written well at all. Seems sloppy and lazy and put together as it was being written. 0 foreshadowing.
I’m going to read the second book when it comes out but if it pisses me off then I’ll probably just stop the series.
Cute. Light hearted. I don’t quite know why tiktok likes this book though
Ella’s mom made me want to throw a brick at her head and scream off of a rooftop because WHAT’S NOT CLOCKING TO YOU
Her speaking about dying, now knowing that she has passed was somehow heartwarming to know that she considered it her last great adventure.
