3⭐️ The romance was cute and I liked the writing but for such a short book too much of it was spent before the MCs first proper on page interaction.
I still think i’m going to try one of the author’s other books since I enjoy her writing in this.

The plot itself is not great the characters are way too stereotypical. The book has some “relatable” aspects like moving and racism but since the book never really addresses the racism as something bad it makes the book more racist than anti-racist. Overall, the “characters” are just stereotypes and the book is very racist even though i think it was supposed to be “anti-racist” and even the plot is just random and boring. Also i only read half the book but it’s too boring to continue.

“To the readers who look up at the stars and wish”
This was really sweet ☺️
This book was mostly Christmas (Solstice) shopping, Illyrian warrior snowball fights, rebuilding and healing from the war, and Rhysand and Feyre using their bond to flirt. And honestly? I didn’t mind the lack of plot. It felt like the calm after the chaos, and it was nice to just be with the characters for a while.
I loved getting POVs from Cassian, Nesta, Mor, and Rhysand. The flashbacks gave some extra depth, and it was great seeing more than just Feyre’s perspective for once.
It’s basically a cozy filler episode, but a necessary one.
The last chapter was a teaser that has me really excited to start the next book!

“A world divided was not a world that could thrive.”
Wow. Just wow. I could not put this down.
I saw a lot of reviews saying the first two books were the best, so I was a little worried this one wouldn’t measure up but honestly, I disagree. For me, it was a million times better than the first (which I still liked), and about tied with the second.
I loved Feyre in this book. Her strength, growth, and confidence were incredible. The character development from book one to now is wild. And I really appreciated that her relationship with Rhys wasn’t full of pointless drama. The romance was still great, but the author didn’t throw in unnecessary problems just for tension, which made it even better.
The side characters and their relationships really shone in this book, too. Each one had their own arc and felt like real people instead of background props. The friendships, banter, and group scenes made the story so much more immersive.
The world-building was stronger, and the writing issues I had in book one were pretty much gone.
Overall, an incredible read. I already want to dive into the next one!

“To the people who look at the stars and wish,...To the stars who listen—and the dreams that are answered.”
I GET the hype on Rhysand!! He was amazing in this book and I could not get enough. I swear, I highlighted almost everything he said.
I don’t even know what to say without spoiling anything—but this was so much better than ACOTAR. The plot starts way earlier, the pacing is faster, the world-building is stronger, and the writing issues I had in the first book were way less noticeable here. And Feyre’s character development? Incredible.
That ending though. Painful. Shocking. But so, so good. I need to start the next book immediately!

“A girl with hate in her heart for our kind has managed to fall in love with a faerie. And a faerie whose father once slaughtered the human masses by my side has actually fallen in love with her, too?”
I finally read ACOTAR! This book has been on my TBR for too long and I don’t know why. Do I understand why it’s so popular? Mostly, yes. Is it my new favorite book of all time? No, but I’ve seen a lot of really positive reviews for the next book, and with how this one ended I’m really looking forward to starting ACOMAF.
The pacing was a bit slow in the middle, especially since the plot didn’t start until the last 40%. For the first 60% of this book nothing made sense and also nothing really happened. There was some world building but mostly it felt like it was supposed to be a slow-burn romance that wasn’t actually burning. Also, for a book that’s marketed as a spicy romantasy…tamper your expectations.
The last part though, was actually really entertaining and by some miracle I’d managed to avoid most spoilers so the ending was pretty unpredictable. I do have to mention that, that riddle was way too easy and I had solved it before I even finished reading it so I think Feyre should’ve solved it way sooner.
The characters:
Feyre (the FMC)-She was honestly pretty annoying throughout this book and the author leaned to heavily on the “uneducated girl from poverty” that in some situations she just seemed dumb when it had nothing to do with her education and everything to do with basic intelligence. But I did see a lot of reviews talking about her character development in the next book so I’m counting on that.
Tamlin (the love interest for this book)-Maybe I’ve just become so accustomed to loving the villain that I can’t feel anything for the hero. It’s probably just me but I found him boring. He was great—really protective, kind, good-hearted and just good…but I didn’t feel any chemistry between them and I don’t really care about him. Sorry to any Tamlin fans.
Rhysand-The main reason I started this series…the character I’ve seen thousands of posts practically worshiping…I get it. He was only in the last part of the book so I didn’t get much of him but the few scenes I did get only make me more excited for ACOMAF. He’s the dark and mysterious stereotype, but I also highlighted half his lines, so clearly I’m here for it.
And then, just because I had to mention him, Lucien-MVP of the first half. Rude, sarcastic, loyal, and honestly the only character keeping me entertained when Tamlin and Feyre were being moody. One of my favorite lines:
“Do you ever stop being so serious and dull?”
“Do you ever stop being such a prick?” I snapped back.
Dead—really, truly, I should have been dead for that.
But Lucien grinned at me. “Much better.”
Final thoughts:
The writing was easy to read and flowed well, but some lines were… odd. If I have to read “the erotic caress of his voice” one more time, I might lose it. The world is interesting, the ending delivered, and I’m really excited to dive into ACOMAF.

I’m not easily disturbed or triggered and that wasn’t my problem with book, although you should definitely the trigger warnings. My problem with this book is that it was so popular I expected something special and I just didn’t get that. The plot was a mess, the book felt too slow and I was just bored. I am in a reading slump so maybe it’s just me but I barely finished this.
“Love isn’t always as pretty or pure as people like to think. There’s a darkness in it sometimes.”
What do I even say about this? It’s the best thing I have ever read. Also probably the longest but it went by way too quickly. It was my first fan-fiction and I’ll definitely be reading more.
This book was just pure unadulterated trauma and I couldn’t stop torturing myself with it.
Hermione Granger in this fan-fiction is the strongest FMC from anything I have read and I loved her so much. Draco…I still don’t even know how he remained sane when I could hardly read about all the pain he went through.
I saw a lot of reviews saying the ending wasn’t satisfying enough but I liked it. It was as “good” as possible while still being realistic.
I definitely recommend but check your triggers and prepare for a lot of heartbreak.

“To all my girls who, on their way to their prince, lost themselves in the villain’s arms.”
It reminded me of God of Malice but better.
Caden King is a somehow more extreme version of Killian Carson. He’s a lot more psychotic and gets a lot softer for her when he falls. He’s morally BLACK but if you don’t take the book too seriously he’s actually really funny. He also takes “touch her and die” to a whole new level. Repeatedly.
The FMC, Billie, is a million times better than Glyndon. She’s an MMA fighter and has a really strong personality. She also doesn’t take 500 pages to admit she wants him, which is something that annoyed me with GoM.
The book doesn’t really have a plot but it still definitely wasn’t boring. Actually I couldn’t put it down. At the end though, it did drag a bit. The third act breakup was forced and a very easily resolved misunderstanding. And what was that last chapter? What was the point of it?
Overall, it was an entertaining book and the characters are definitely memorable. This review has turned out a like a comparison but for some reason it just reminded me a lot of GoM.

“Like in all my books, this couple is toxic, my MMC close to non-redeemable, and oh so manipulative. I do not approve of this in real life, and in fact, actively tell you to keep this to fiction.”
-Extract from the content warnings
I preferred the first book but this was still good.
I really liked Xi. He’s a true psychopath who has a thing for arson and it was great watching his obsession turn into love.
Elisabeth Alexandra Delacroix was for the majority of the book very annoying. I get that she was meant to be bland at first, but she was frustratingly flat for too long. Her development by the end was good, just too little too late for me to fully care.
The plot surprised me in a good way though. The gang rivalry is getting interesting and I’m definitely invested now.
Overall, it was a good book but I just couldn’t get into it and by the time it got interesting I didn’t care anymore.
