Short, and ended abruptly. But pretty good.
3.5 - I did listen to the abridged audio book, so that may play a factor. The summary sounded interesting, but I feel like something was missing that I can't quite put my finger on.
DNF @ 45% I really tried with this one, but absolutely nothing was happening.
DNF ~30%ish. It just wasn't for me. Even though it's labeled as a Sci-fi book, to me it was more drama general fiction set in a Sci-fi world if that makes any sense. The writing for some parts is also basically a woman talking about herself in third person (I guess) which I STRUGGLED with. It definitely has it's place, but not for me.
I mean I skimmed most of it. It was just so unnecessarily long and drawn out, I just stopped caring about the characters.
I really wanted to like this, but I couldn't finish it. I got a little over halfway through, and still nothing had happened. Jumping back and forth between 12 pov is doable, but here it wasn't done very well. I stopped caring about most of the characters. Neat idea for a book, just poor execution.
Have I ever read Harry Potter, no. Am I 100% invested and emotionally attached to this story, 100% yes. Damn I didn't know this story was going to wreck me. I'm not a fanfic person, but just read this. It's so freaking dark, but so so good. I feel like if I even knew a little bit of the HP universe that this would be even better.
Meh. Interesting concept, but it moved so slow and the writing felt choppy.
