I really enjoyed this book--I even stayed up late just to finish it. There's a lot that's been done before--young woman that doesn't know she's beautiful or has a great destiny ahead, but this book checks all of my boxes. If you love SJ Maas's stories, you'll probably enjoy this!

This was so fun--the narration was great with real SW sounds and effects. Although my inner child is disappointed this isn't more of a romance, it felt true to the characters.

I found myself drawn into this series primarily because of its unique take on magic--something genuinely fresh in a genre often filled with familiar tropes. While the plot followed some predictable paths, it still managed to surprise me with a few unexpected twists. The author did a fantastic job developing the characters, making me genuinely care about their journeys. Though I enjoyed the standard audiobook narration, I can't help imagining how amazing this would be as a graphic audio production. Despite enjoying the experience, it's probably not one I'll revisit--but it was certainly worth the first read through.

3.5 stars. I definitely didn't love it like a lot of other readers, but I there were parts I loved--Caz is awesome. Audiobook was great.

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Didn't love the narrator, but I tend to prefer female narrators.

Really enjoyed the audiobook! A little bit of newness mixed with the traditional fae mythology. Can't wait for book 2!

Ugh. I'm giving it a four-star rating for now, but after I digest and reread, I’ll probably change it to five stars. I love the world Sarah has created, and, though this is not something I normally enjoy, I like that I'm not sure where we're going with the story. I ordinarily hate surprises (and love spoilers for that reason), and I generally try not to start a series until it’s completely finished so I can be done with it. But Sarah has me on the edge of my seat, and although I know good will probably prevail, I’m still incredibly nervous for the characters, and I want more!

Additionally, even if it's cheesy, I love watching the characters pair up, especially the new stuff:

Everyone knew Manon & Dorian and Lysandra & Aedion would get together, but Lorcan and Elide?? Who saw that coming?? I didn't, but I LOVED it!

Plus Rowan and Aelin

married?? Mated? Squee! But it also makes me sad for Sam. Maybe he and Lyria can be together in the otherworld? (Is it weird that I wonder about that, even though I know they're not real people?)

And Chaol and Nesrin?

What the hell? Where are they? Nothing? That made me sad.

Really minor gripe, and I'm not sure if it's just that I've read and reread the series so many times that these things stand out to me, but certain words and phrases are used over and over and over to the point when I read them, they automatically stand out and annoy me. I guess I'm only putting this out there because I'd like Sarah and/or her editors to change this in the future. I'll buy the rest of the series (and ACoTR too) regardless, but fwiw, this drives me crazy! Some examples:

"incarnate" used in EoS 4 times. Okay, that doesn't seem like that many times, but add in the other times it’s used in the series, and it drives me crazy. If it were just one character's favorite word, then fine. But all the characters use it. It's a great word, but it's not a regular word. There are synonyms.

"sides of the same * coin" *insert fair, golden, other adjective here, or use none at all. It's still over used, IMO.

Petty? Maybe, idk. It’s not like I could write anything like this or like Sarah. But something that could be improved perhaps? Bees?

September 2017 is too far away. Sarah--I’ll be happy to beta though, should you need another!! *wink wink wink*

I loved this book, and I'm in that post-read book-hangover haze. I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and this one checked all my boxes. I know nothing about Alaska and have never wanted to visit. Viewing it through Calla's eyes brought it to life for me. This isn't even my favorite K.A. Tucker book (Until it Fades is!), but it's a five-star read. Recommended if you want a fish outta water story in the great outdoors. Oh, and bearded yetis (or is it yeties?).

I'm still thinking this book over. I didn't like it as much as The Hating Game (5 stars), but The Hating Game really hit all my favorite tropes. With 99 Percent Mine, I just really felt sorry for Darcy and mad she kept making bad-ish choices. I also kind of hated her brother and how he treated her. Despite that, I could not put the book down. Ms. Thorne is definitely a must-read author for me.

I've had this book on my to-read list forever, and I finally did it. After reading Sadie by Courtney Summers (5 stars), I went on a true-crime-ish binge, and this book fits that category to a T. Spoiler alert:

There is no HEA here. Duh.

I found myself disappointed with the story at times-not because it wasn't good or thoughtful-I just wanted something different, something better to happen for Susie. Maybe that's unfair, but I can't seem to help it. A must read for true-crime aficionados. I'm glad I read it when I was in the right mindset--definitely NOT a picker-upper.
