Another Woman’s Child

As always, Kerry’s books never cease to inspire me. They are a reminder that there is good in the world and that love triumphs all ❤️

I think this is the first review I’ve written. I usually just assign my rating and move on; but I must say something about this book. I was so disappointed in the writing. I pushed on, thinking it would get better, but it never did. I did however become interested in what would happen to Ragna and Edgar. But I won’t continue with the rest of the books in the Kingsbridge series. I can think of much better books to spend my time on.

Another great read by Kerry Fisher!

5 stars as always for an excellent Kate Morton book. I love the way she tells her stories; the descriptions are so beautiful and easily imaginable. I can always count on her books to keep me wanting more of the story. Great job Kate!

This book was such a refreshing experience for me! It was past time for a break from my usual psychological thriller/criminal dramas that I'm drawn to.

The read was fast; partly because I didn't want to put it down, but also because everything about it just flowed so seamlessly. The characters were so lovely...from Luke and Anna to Laurie and Clara, and even grouchy ole Bert :-)

I tried to stretch it out by co-reading The Goldfinch and was sad to reach the last page. I'll definitely be reading another one of Sally's books ;-)

I don't think I've ever fallen in love so deeply with a character as I have with the tenacious Ove. I was immediately reminded of Clint Eastwood's character in Gran Torino. This book was such a nice change of pace for me!

I'm only giving this book 3 stars because I found it difficult to stay interested in the first 1/2 of the book. I felt like there were about 80 pages that could have been left out of the book and the story not be affected in any way. I'm glad I stuck with it though because once it started picking up speed it was a very touching story of a father trying to come to grips with the person his son had become.

I have been in a funk lately with regard to books...just seem to be picking ones that aren't holding my interest. I love series book and ran across this one on Goodreads and decided to give it a try. I am pleased to say that this book kept my attention and I was able to finish it within one week, despite my work and gym schedule! It wasn't too gory, and the scene descriptions that would normally cause me anxiety were kept short and to the point. I'm a huge fan of Kate and look forward to reading more about her!

I wanted to read this book because the movie trailer was intriguing. I had never heard of this author before and didn't read any reviews on this book before I spent part of my gift card money that I received for Christmas to purchase it. It took me a good hundred pages to really get into this book. However, I continued reading it because 1. I paid money for it, and 2. I was confused because the movie trailer led me to believe that one thing was happening...but the book was making me think otherwise. So I'll give it to the author for that...BUT I didn't keep reading it because it was so interesting, it was quite redundant actually. After all, I personally do not suffer from amnesia so why in the world is it necessary to go over the previous day's events at the beginning of every chapter??? This book had me so frustrated that I just skimmed over the last of the chapters because I couldn't bare to read every single word. When I was done I threw it away. Yep, right into the trash can. I've never done that before. It's an understatement to say that reading this was a complete waste of my time...

This book was a little hard for me to get through. Sometimes I just needed a break from the darkness of the story. I know, I know, her books are known for being a little "real", but some of the characters were just so mentally twisted that I could only take it in small doses lol. Now...on to find an uplifting book for my next read!
