Even when I was too young to understand what love is, my heart still loved you on instinct. Loving you was like breathing. My body just knew what to do, even when my brain was still a primordial hormone soup.
before i picked this up, i was honestly considering if i should just give up on the romance genre. maybe i grew out of it? because for the past two years and this one, i've read five (or less!) memorable romances. everything seems a copy of something that already exists.
this one though!!!!! ugh, it deserves all the hype its been getting AND MORE! from the very first chapter, it completely hooked me, not making me want to put this down unless i really had to and even then i thought about it all the time. had me giggling, blushing, kicking my feet, begging to have that kind of relationship.
however, it's definitely not a rom-com since grief and loss are big parts of the story (and they made me cry so much. thrice in public which is so embarassing for me). i somehow keep finding my way back to romances that also talk about losing someone, so if you have a rec for me pls do tell!!!!!
i'll be thinking about it for several weeks to come and i have not doubt it here we go again will be a memorable romance for my 2024 reading year! :)))
PICK IT UP NOW!!!!!!! also lesb4lesb which aodneospwnwdgiekwnwqpqwdhx
dnf @ 73%. it's not bad, but it's definitely a kind of slow burn horror that I'm not up to right now. i really liked the writing, but as we're getting closer to the end I'm finding that i don't care about whatever it will happen with these characters. i can't take any more 2 star books!!!!!
unfortunately, i have to agree: great concept, meh execution. didn't care about most of the characters, the ending was a bit predictable and it's quite forgettable if i'm being honest. :/
this was so fun! it's fast paced, has intringing characters and i was making theories and questions all throughout the book—which is exactly what i expect from a thriller. i usually
hate romances in thrillers, but this one i actually enjoyed bc it made me emphasize even more with lucy.
great book, amazing surprise, and definitely recommend it!
read it for the book troop (gabbyreads' book club).
The best kind of love doesn't happen on moonlit walks and romantic vacations. It happens in between the folds of everyday life. It's not grand gestures that show how you feel, it's all the little secret things you do to make her life better that you never tell her about. Taking the end piece of the bread at breakfast so she can have the last middle piece for her sand- wich when you pack her lunch. Mak- ing sure her car always has gas so she never has to stop at the pump. Telling her you're not cold and to take your jacket when you are in fact, very, very cold. It's watching TV on a rainy Sunday while you're doing laundry and turning her light off when she's fallen asleep reading. Sharing pizza crusts and laughing about something the kids did and taking care of each other when you're sick. It isn't glamorous, it isn't all butterflies and stars in your eyes. It's real. This is the kind of love that forever is made of. Because if it's this good when life is draining and mundane and hard, think of how wonderful it will be when the love songs are playing and the moon is out.
the ending was a little bit confusing for me but holy fucking shit the fucking amount of plot twits in this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im freaking the fuck out dude omfg this is GOLD
