An anthology of poems written during the lockdown of 2020/21.
They have grown from a range of different emotions and subjects, including the highs and lows of living with Parkinson’s Disease and the fears and uncertainty of living through a pandemic.
I am 63 and a mum to four children and grandmother to several wonderful grandchildren.
I didn't start writing until the first Covid-19 lockdown. I have Parkinson’s and was put on isolation from work for several weeks. It was during this time that I started writing poetry. With the encouragement of friends and family I self published my first book of poetry in August 2022 through the Amazon KPD website. I have been donating a percentage of sales to Parkinson’s UK and wish to continue to do this.
It was another beautiful Sunday
The sun is shining
The birds are singing
In their gardens the children are playing
In the distance the church bells are ringing
It is another beautiful Sunday
The gardeners are busy
The flowers begin to bloom
Families are chilling
Dinner is cooking
It is another beautiful Sunday
But all is not as it seems
A dark cloud brings sadness and doom .... to be continued ...
