    I don't read a lot of sci-fi, but I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this book. The worldbuilding and the history of the Kindred connection were particularly engaging. The book explores themes of friendship and love within a setting of space kingdoms and royal intrigue, with elements of suspense and mystery keeping the plot intriguing.
