Who Would Like This Book:
Step into 1930s New York with Nick and Nora Charles - witty, glamorous, and maybe a tad tipsy as they banter through murder mysteries and martinis. The charm of The Thin Man is really in the sparkling dialogue and the unique chemistry of its leads, who are both fun and refreshingly equal partners. If you like snappy, screwball humor with your whodunits, or if you love noir classics that don't take themselves too seriously, this book's a treat. Fans of old-school mysteries, lively couples, and vintage vibes (with a splash of satire) will feel right at home.
Who May Not Like This Book:
If you're looking for a tightly plotted, emotionally intense crime thriller, you might find The Thin Man a little lacking. Some readers have found the murder itself - and its victims - a bit hard to care about, while the convoluted solving process can come off as overly complex or tongue-in-cheek. The constant drinking and period slang might also grate on contemporary sensibilities, and a few dated or problematic terms haven't aged well. If you prefer mysteries where you deeply care about the crime as much as the characters, this one’s more about style and personality than suspense.

In general, I liked the book, although the ending wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. Geez, they drank a lot.
