Beckett,
If you're reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn't. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.
I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.
My little sister Ella's raising the twins alone. She's too independent and won't accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It's too much for anyone to endure. It's not fair.
And here's the kicker: there's something else you don't know that's tearing her family apart. She's going to need help.
So if I'm gone, that means I can't be there for Ella. I can't help them through this. But you can. So I'm begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.
Please don't make her go through it alone.
Ryan

5⭐️ really enjoyed the book… pretty emotional… but with a good ending…
Unnecessary amount of tragedy, too sad
Well…This book is devastating beautiful and heart-wrenching, and amazing all in one. It honestly has broken my heart. But it was also an amazing story. Such conflicting feelings like it’s a great book but also broke my freaking heart in more ways than one. I don’t have children, and I think if I did it would have broke me a 1000x over and this book BROKE ME.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and even though it has some really confronting aspects and broke me in more ways than one, it really makes you feel in your soul just how important your family and loved ones are. And that even after loss and sacrifices that you can heal, grow and literally grow through what you go through.
Like, the sh*t in the book is confronting as anything but it’s actually based on truly devastating and unforgivable events and trauma that happen to everyday people.
It’s a book of loss, strength and heartbreak.
Absolutely HEARTBREAKING
Story line, the characters, the theme, difficult topics, harrowing at times
