Well, I managed to finish this without throwing it across the room, so it's already one up on the
Hush Hush series. There were a few minor things I liked. OK, there was really only one thing I liked, but it was a big thing. I enjoyed reading about all the past lives. I don't know why. I've just always had a soft spot for past lives.
I think my biggest problem with this book is that I'm a cynical, married 30-something woman instead of a dewy-eyed teenager pining over the unrequited love of a Jonas brother.
This 'my soul recognized you' crap -- love doesn't work that way. In every single past life, Luce falls in love with Daniel the very second she lays eyes on him. I'm sorry...that's not love, that's brain washing. Give me something tangible - he's nice to animals, he helped an elderly woman across the street, we had a nice conversation. This instantaneous, I'm-willing-to-die-for-you-even-though-I-don't-know-your-first-name love is absolutely ridiculous!
Sadly, I will probably still read the next book in the series. Mainly because I want to see if it explains what makes her spontaneously explode.
