The collection includes The Emperor's Soul, which is a favorite among fans but not everyone's top pick.
Secret History adds depth to the events in The Hero of Ages but may be better appreciated when read immediately after that novel.
This book is a great introduction to the Cosmere universe for new readers, starting with The Hope of Elantris and The Emperor's Soul.
Edgedancer is an exclusive novella featuring the character Lift from the Stormlight Archive series.
Sixth of the Dusk is set on First of the Sun and introduces a new world and characters.

The stories often provide answers to mysteries within the Cosmere and enhance the interconnectedness of the universe.
The novella Mistborn Secret History contains spoilers for the original Mistborn trilogy.
The narratives are crafted with engaging writing typical of Sanderson's style, making it appealing to fans.
Readers recommend starting with the shorter works like The Emperor's Soul or Sixth of Dusk before delving into the entire collection.

A short story on Kelsier where we find out how he trained to become a mistborn. He follows another old mistborn, Gammel who is very strict and sometimes ruthless on his teachings. But Kelsier is determined to learn as much as he can from Gemmel. And in one of such outings with Gemmel, Kelsier saves many Skaa who were being experimented by a noble mistborn. Here he finds his purpose of life which is continued in the first book of Mistborn Era 1 trilogy [b:The Final Empire|68428|The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1)|Brandon Sanderson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1617768316l/68428._SY75_.jpg|66322].

Gosh... this was interesting, but I wish it would’ve been longer! I really enjoyed reading from Kelsier’s POV, and I would absolutely love it if Sanderson wrote some more stories from his perspective in the future.

The story here doesn’t feel quite finished, but it does give you some nice background on Kelsier, and also on his vendetta against the nobility.

It was fine. By far the least essential piece of Mistborn content. Potentially even less essential than Allomancer Jak
