The other books by this author was all 4 stars or more and Dasiy Darker is at the moment my favorite thriller of the year. So I went into this with high expectations that I would really enjoy this but unfortunately I did not. The narration, style and plot just irked me and I felt more bored and annoyed with it, rather than get intruiged by it. But I hope I will enjoy the next Alice Feeney book I pick up.

This book was not good, and yet I read the entire thing. I know it only deserves one star but....I finished it, on purpose!

I think Feeney's strategy in writing this book was "every third sentence has to be an Instagram self-care aphorism, but about murder." So, short and seems deep, but is actually pointless if you think about it for more than 3 seconds.

I don't know why I'm saying bad things, when I have moved beyond the point of feeling obligated to finish books for the sake of finishing them.....and yet I finished this book.
