Georgie Mulcahy returns to her hometown of Darentville, VA, feeling lost and unsure of her dreams after working as a PA in LA. Reconnecting with her childhood crush's older brother, Levi Fanning, the two find themselves living together due to a mix-up by Georgie's parents. As Georgie rediscovers her childhood dreams through a friendfic notebook, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, while Levi, dealing with his own troubled past, offers to help her fulfill her goals. The book explores themes of reinvention, romance, and finding oneself through unexpected connections and shared experiences.

Georgie and Levi's sweet and steamy romance blossoms as they recreate teenage memories and support each other in their personal journeys. The story unfolds with endearing moments, a mix of humor and spice, and heartwarming themes of friendship, self-exploration, and building a new family. The dual perspective narrative brings depth to the characters, especially Levi, who evolves from a closed-off individual to a supportive partner, adding layers to the story's emotional depth.

Characters:

The characters are well-developed, with Georgie embodying a relatable messiness and Levi reflecting a troubled but caring nature. The friendships in the story also play a significant role in character dynamics.

Writing/Prose:

The writing style is reflective and emotional, balancing character development with a mix of humor and depth. Some readers find the inner dialogue occasionally excessive, while others appreciate the exploration of feelings.

Plot/Storyline:

The story revolves around Georgie's homecoming and her evolving relationship with Levi. It explores themes of self-discovery and growth through a blend of romance and friendships, leading to an authentic and non-traditional conclusion.

Setting:

The setting is a small-town environment that fosters familial and community connections, enhancing the story's comforting and cozy vibe.

Pacing:

Notes:

The story is set in the small town of Darentville, Virginia.

The acclaimed author of Love Lettering weaves a wise and witty new novel that echoes with timely questions about love, career, reconciling with the past, and finding your path while knowing your true worth.

Longtime personal assistant Georgie Mulcahy has made a career out of putting others before herself. When an unexpected upheaval sends her away from her hectic job in L.A. and back to her hometown, Georgie must confront an uncomfortable truth: her own wants and needs have always been a disconcertingly blank page.

But then Georgie comes across a forgotten artifact-a "friendfic" diary she wrote as a teenager, filled with possibilities she once imagined. To an overwhelmed Georgie, the diary's simple, small-scale ideas are a lifeline-a guidebook for getting started on a new path.

Georgie's plans hit a snag when she comes face to face with an unexpected roommate-Levi Fanning, onetime town troublemaker and current town hermit. But this quiet, grouchy man is more than just his reputation, and he offers to help Georgie with her quest. As the two make their way through her wishlist, Georgie begins to realize that what she truly wants might not be in the pages of her diary after all, but right by her side-if only they can both find a way to let go of the pasts that hold them back.

Honest and deeply emotional, Georgie, All Along is a smart, tender must-read for everyone who's ever wondered about the life that got away . . .

I received a copy of this book for a honest review! I personally loved this story! This is my first time reading a Kate Clayborn book. I have to say, I was very impressed. This is an entertaining contemporary romance novel. There are so many laugh out loud moments! Don't get me started on the dog ;)

I enjoyed this one- a cute lil love story! I appreciated that Georgie was just a hot mess the entire book (very relatable). I liked learning about the supporting characters and community. This book kept me reading and smiling; could the Fanning family drama had more oomph? Sure. But, overall, I enjoyed this one. The buildup of love and trust over the course of the novel made my heart swell, and, I found myself narrating my own significant other’s (fictional) romantic inner-dialogue when he sees me exploding all over the place a La Georgie.
