AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 USA TODAY BESTSELLER
In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man…
King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt.
Everyone knows he's a guaranteed good time-in bed and out-and that's exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She's immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends?
Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is.
Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox's spare bedroom. She knows he's a notorious ladies' man, but they're definitely just friends.
In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport's resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker's eye… yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead.
As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost.
Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she's walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and… and… man overboard!
He's fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he's all in, she'll choose him instead?

I absolutely loved this. It took me some time to read this but once I got back into it, I flew through it. I really enjoyed Hannah as a character, I could really relate to her. Fox was hot but I struggled a little bit with his character. One thing I love about Tessa Bailey's writing is that it is so easy to fly through. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers and this had me in my feels. The pining is this book I LOVED! I liked reading from both Hannah and Fox's points of view, it made me feel more connected to each other them. I really fell in love with Hannah, I just adore and understand her. This is so close to 5 stars but I felt that the pacing kinda dragged at some points. Overall, I had a great time reading this!
It was a good story and exactly what I wanted.
In some ways, the story mirrored the first book in the series. This time, Fox is the one that no one takes seriously and no one respects. From time to time I felt that the author was overdoing the situation a bit, but overall it was fine. Fox is definitely an interesting character, and quite unique. There's a chance I'll remember him.
Hannah is a bit colourless next to him and has a little too weak personality. There has been a lot of talk about what a wonderful person she is, but I'm not sure if I had the time and the opportunity to see it all. I wasn't always sure what was driving her. But I liked how she fights for Fox and becomes his true friend. And even though I think Hannah is a little colourless, I think I liked her more than Piper.
There is something in this story that warms your heart. I think somehow Fox and Hannah really fit together. They are not only lovers, but also good friends. I like how they inspire each other to fulfil their dreams and reach further, being more than they were before.
It's a simple story, but thanks to interesting characters, especially Fox, it's surprisingly good. It's an easy book that you read very quickly. Perfect as a beach read. I think I liked it even more than the first book in this series.
A great follow up book to It happened one summer. Who doesn't love Hannah and Fox? Great friends to lovers.
