To preface this I'm not a regular romance reader:

The book was good but lacked originality for a significant portion. While I'm okay with the tropes, these were executed in the same way as other books. I loved our female main character—she had a distinct personality, wasn't a "pick me," and had her own hobbies, friends, and ambitions that didn't revolve around the male main character. I appreciated the character development and the callbacks to quotes, two of which were so impactful that I had to write them down. Our MMC, however, was typical for this genre, with only a few moments of originality. The spice scenes were some of the best I've read, with perfect wording. I enjoyed the writing style, though I did find myself skimming some repetitive or dull paragraphs. While some repetition was necessary to emphasize certain memories, I wasn't invested enough to fully re-engage with them. Overall, it was a good book but nothing exceptional. I might continue with the series when I’m in the mood for a romance, but I’m not rushing to get the next book. If this book hadn’t been as hyped, I might have had lower expectations and enjoyed it more. (In my rating system, 3 stars means I enjoyed it but have criticisms and/or would recommend it only to certain people.)

I have been wanting to read this for a while and if did not disappoint! It was fun, sexy, and thought provoking. It didn't end up being a 5 because I felt like the plot moved a little too fast sometimes.
