From The Publisher:

From the author of the Goodreads Choice Award winner The Spanish Love Deception , the eagerly anticipated follow-up featuring Rosie Graham and Lucas Martín, who are forced to share a New York apartment.

Rosie Graham has a problem. A few, actually. She just quit her well paid job to focus on her secret career as a romance writer. She hasn't told her family and now has terrible writer's block. Then, the ceiling of her New York apartment literally crumbles on her. Luckily she has her best friend Lina's spare key while she's out of town. But Rosie doesn't know that Lina has already lent her apartment to her cousin Lucas, who Rosie has been stalking-for lack of a better word-on Instagram for the last few months. Lucas seems intent on coming to her rescue like a Spanish knight in shining armor. Only this one strolls around the place in a towel, has a distracting grin, and an irresistible accent. Oh, and he cooks.

Lucas offers to let Rosie stay with him, at least until she can find some affordable temporary housing. And then he proposes an outrageous experiment to bring back her literary muse and meet her deadline: He'll take her on a series of experimental dates meant to jump-start her romantic inspiration. Rosie has nothing to lose. Her silly, online crush is totally under control-but Lucas's time in New York has an expiration date, and six weeks may not be enough, for either her or her deadline.

The American Roommate Experiment i think i might understand why so many people disliked TSLD, and i must say: if you really, really disliked it, i don't think you'll enjoy this one not even a little bit.

i have so many problems with this. even though i absolutely love the slow burn trope, i need the sexual tension between the couple so i can, first of all, ship them, but also feel like the time i'm waiting for anything between them to happen will be worth the wait. unfortunately, this didn't happen. Rosie was so deep in, so enchanted by Lucas since the very first moment that it was kinda hard for me to connect and understand those feelings. they didn't have chemistry & there was so much obliviousness, i got pissed off. at 80% i was honestly considering DNFing this.

this was one of my most anticipated books of the year, but unfortunately i'm leaving very disappointed. :(

Incredible

THE ROMANCE: 10/10. It was adorable; I read the Spanish Love Deception first, and I'll admit, I was underwhelmed by how slow it was. But the American Roommate Experiment certainly takes the cake.

THE SPICE: 4/5. It was spicy in some portions of the book, and I loved how the author wrote these scenes; you could practically feel the tension seeping off the pages! However, the ultimate scene was a tad bit underwhelming, but overall still good! You can appreciate the true bonds between the two!

THE CHARACTERS: Rosie: I loved Rosie. I could relate to her as a struggling author desperate to make money to help support her family, as well as her desperation to keep her father happy, and you could connect with her hesitation to fall in love after so many failed attempts.

- Lucas: But LUCAS?! OMG THAT MAN IS EVERYTHING. Elena Armas fr went: "oh? You like bilingual men with a hot accent?" x "flynn ryder energy?" BAM! Here you have Lucas Martín!

GREAT BOOK <333
