I am definitely not a great fan of SEP. I have already tried eight of her books. Some were better, some were worse. She is so popular that I'm still trying.

Usually, I don't like her characters.

Heaven, Texas was not an exception. I completely didn't care about Gracie and Bobby Tom, plus I found them even more annoying than other SEP characters. They were both driving me mad, I just can't decide which one more - silly and naive Gracie or cheerful stud Bobby Tom. Sometimes I get used to the characters I don't like at the beginning, but not in this case.

The plot at the beginning was rather strange and completely unbelievable. But I have to admit it was a quick read, especially that I was skipping some boring or annoying parts. And then, exactly in the middle of the book, I completely lost my interest. Bobby Tom was just explaining to Gracie why they should go to bed and I found out that I can't stand it any more. I decided to read the last page to find out the ending and after doing it I was absolutely convinced that giving up this foolish story is the best thing I can do. The ending was as silly as all the plot.

I gave up at 50%. The worst book by SEP in my opinion. Wast of time.
