Has Romance?
The romance between Ellie and Will is a significant aspect of the novel, showcasing a budding relationship that develops throughout the story.
From The Publisher:
First there are nightmares. Then come the memories. Now she must hunt.
Ellie can't shake the terrifying dreams about monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her. Then she meets Will and feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. When they meet on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.
Her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. In order to survive, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives, the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, and truths that may be too frightening to remember.
Angelfire is achingly romantic, terrifying, and filled with blistering action.

Loved the book
Pros:
*The book reminded me of the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer - and I LOVE me some Buffy.
*She has super-cool angelfire swords.
*The main dude in the book was NOT a stalker.
*The heroine was a normal teenager (aside from the uber richness, abusive dad, and excessive drinking)
Cons:
* Don't these kids have parents? They seem to do a lot of drinking!
* One of my biggest pet peeves is when authors drop in references to current pop culture - it always dates the book - this book has plenty of those.
* OK - I understand these girls are supposed to be rich - but what high school student in Detroit shops at Gucci and is given a brand new Audi as a birthday present? Her friend drove a Mercedes, which was even worse.
* And the dad? No one is THAT mean. (Although I suspect there's more to him than meets the eye.)
