Who Would Like This Book:
If you're a fan of deeply emotional, slow-burn romances with a poetic touch, this book is a winner. It's packed with complex characters - Graham, the emotionally closed-off novelist, and Lucy, the ultimate sunshine soul - whose opposite personalities create a push-pull dynamic that will tug at your heartstrings. Beyond the love story, there's a moving exploration of family, healing, and learning to let love in after trauma. Fans of grumpy/sunshine pairings, found family themes, or those who crave stories about personal growth and second chances are in for a treat. If you need some book therapy or just a good cry, you'll love this one.
Who May Not Like This Book:
Some readers found the story overly angsty and at times, downright depressing - so if you’re looking for a lighthearted rom-com, this isn’t it. There are also concerns about the "forbidden romance" angle (since both main characters are initially involved with other people), which might not sit well with everyone. The pacing can feel slow, especially for those who aren’t big fans of gradual, drawn-out emotional builds. And if you want lots of spicy scenes, be prepared - this one is low on heat and focuses more on emotional connection.

From The Publisher:
Graham Russell and I weren't made for one another.
I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.
Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other's secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.
Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.
Graham Russell wasn't a man who knew how to love, and I wasn't a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I'd fall with him forever.
Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground. more

H is married with h's sister which has disappeared after giving birth to plot moppet which brings together the grumpy hero and the sunshiny heroine which is dropped by her boyfriend at about 50% and she dares mourn a relationship with that asshole. Heroine is kind but not relationship-bright.
