Notes:

The book starts with a prologue set in 15th century France involving angelic events.
The narrator, Nora Grey, is a high school student focused on academics rather than romance.
She is assigned to sit next to a mysterious student named Patch in biology class.
Nora's attraction to Patch grows despite her instincts warning her about him.
Patch is depicted as a 'bad boy' with a mysterious past and a bad boy vibe.
Nora has a backstory of losing her father to murder, influencing her character.
The book contains themes of stalking, manipulation, and inappropriate behavior masked as romance.
Nora's best friend, Vee, embodies a stereotype of a highly sexualized character.
There is a suggestion that the book glamorizes unhealthy relationships for young readers.
The ending reveals that Patch could save Nora and become her guardian angel rather than accomplishing his original plan to sacrifice her.

Sensitive Topics/Content Warnings

There are themes of stalking, manipulation, and violence that may be triggering for some readers.

Has Romance?

The book features a high level of romance, with strong attraction and tension between Nora and Patch.

From The Publisher:

Nora finds forbidden love with her fallen angel, in the first in the New York Times bestselling Hush, Hush saga.

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.

With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

This book is yet another variation of the ever-popular teenage girl in love with a paranormal boy sort of thing. This time it's angels. I guess the positive thing is that angels don't bite.

In this case, the angel is named Patch, which happens to be the stupidest name on earth.

Aside from the fact that the plot is melodramatic and stupid, my main beef with this book is the heroine's dependence on iron pills. This book is aimed at teenage girls and to have the main character popping pills every time she is put in a stressful situation is irresponsible.

I've taken iron before for anemia. It's something that needs to build up in your body over time - and it doesn't have a soothing affect. You can't just pop a pill and instantly feel better. Plus, if you take too many, they can really wreck your stomach.

I realize the book is fiction, but it's still misleading a very susceptible audience.

I read this in one day and thought it was an enjoyable and inoffensive little YA PNR novel. Much better than a lot of the more popular series out there! The main character is a little too dumb to live and the meet-cute (i.e. mysterious lab partner) was the same as Twilight, and I figured out almost immediately who the "bad guys" were, but it was an interesting and different concept and not as sexist as a lot of the more popular series.

I don't know why I'm surprised. I've had this book on my TBR pile forever. 3 and 1/2 hours into it, and I'm calling it. It has a feeling of a wannabe Twilight with a really dumb heroine. Several times Nora has said something like, "I have two choices here," when there's an obvious and adequate third choice. Yet we're told over and over again she's really smart. I'm desperate for some reading material, but not that desperate. One star feels too generous.

its a really good series it starts off a bit slow in the first book as its mainly jut used to introduce charecters and explain why there there (this is my pov) but near the end it starts to pick up the series goes like this hush hush, cresendo , silence, finale, theres 4 books in there series and all charecrters go through major changes in each book giving it a major plot twist every book! i do recomend it as a book series hard to put down once it picks up

( sorry for any grammer mistakes its the one subject in school i suck at XD )
