From The Publisher:
The second book in the breathtaking New York Times bestselling Hush, Hush saga, soon to be a major motion picture!
Nora should have known her life wouldn't stay perfect for long. Despite starting a relationship with her bad boy guardian angel, Patch, and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and starting to become obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl when she has a guardian angel. Since Patch isn't answering her questions, she has to start finding the answers on her own. But when she finds them, will she be able to count on Patch or are the things he's hiding from her darker than she can imagine?

This is kind of a spoiler but not really since it happens in the second chapter.
Nora breaks up with Patch because…im not actually sure she kept changing her mind about the reason every few chapters but basically it was a mix of jealousy, mistrust and being too selfish to actually try to commit to the relationship when they had a few problems. Like they were just discussing some of their problems, Patch asked her if she has any solutions and she just says “I want out”! And then somehow decides that she broke up with him for a selfless reason, that that the breakup was all his fault and precedes to just insult and accuse him for the rest of the book. And whenever he tried to explain his actions to her or even tell her that she’s in danger and warn her what to do about it she just basically puts her hands on her ears and tells him she doesn’t want him to say anything to her. And with all this (HER breaking up with HIM, and the saying he’s horrible and she’s better off) she still spends the whole book crying over the breakup when she could just call him and make up.
I'm sorry...I made a valiant effort, but I couldn't get past the first 50 pages. All that "Promise me you'll never leave me" and "Do you love me as much as I love you?" and "I can't bear the thought of you not loving me" crap.
Seriously, can the teenage girls in these books get a spine already? Someday, I'd like to read about a strong-willed, butt-kicking heroine instead of some bratty girl who whines about her paranormal boyfriend all the time.
And the angel dude's name is Patch. What the heck kind of name is that? It makes me think of a clown wearing hobo clothes.
I read the first book and thought it was pretty bad (although the cover is misleadingly gorgeous). Still, for some reason I thought the second book would be better. It isn't. Don't waste your time unless you're into this sort of nambly pambly sopfest, then have at it!
