Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by-and torn between-two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length…everyone, that is, but Tessa. Oh, dear. I can't describe how I felt when I heard there was a prequel series to the Mortal Instruments. I love Jem. I feel so bad for him, though. He has to live with his disease forever and if he stops the drugs, he'll die. If he doesn't he'll die. I just want to cry every time he coughs and goes through the pain.

Seemed to drag on;i didn't understand the choices that Tessa made - it was like it took getting to the 2nd book for me to understand her motivations.

Clockwork Angel is one of my favourite books. The friendship between Jem and Will the way they have each others backs as well as their shenanigans drew me threw the the series. This was the series that started my love for reading. I could go back and reread this book a hundred times like rewatching my favourite TV show.
