In "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas, Feyre, a human, is thrust into the dangerous world of the Fae where she must navigate treacherous politics and dark magic. Bound to the High Lord of the Spring Court, Tamlin, Feyre embarks on a journey of love and sacrifice to save both the Fae and human realms. The book weaves a tale of intrigue, romance, and magic, set against a backdrop of curses, tests, and court drama, appealing to readers of fantasy romance with its unique twist on the Beauty and the Beast story.
Maas expertly crafts a world that is both grounded in familiar fairy tales yet entirely original and captivating. The story is action-packed, filled with twists and turns that keep readers engaged, while the characters, particularly Feyre, are portrayed as flawed and relatable, making the narrative more immersive. The writing style, though at times criticized for being too descriptive or slow-paced, is praised for its ability to create a vivid and enchanting world that draws readers in.

I really hate enemies to lovers trope, but I digress...I did enjoy this story. i have read this book previously but stopped because the series wasn't complete. Now there are more books, I am going to pick it back up.
Tighter plot
I'm doing a reread of this series for two reasons. Firstly, I'm into audiobooks FINALLY and specially graphic audios gave me a totally new experience of reading, so tackling them one series at a time seemed like a great way to do it. And secondly, I've been meaning to read again the series that started it all for me, after having read all of SJM published books (as of now), trying to find connections, deeper meanings, easter eggs and fun theories while we wait for the next book.
So, this time around, I actually got how problematic Tamlin was in some lines, but it surprised me to also understand their relationship better, that he was what she needed at the time, and we all know she was exactly what him and all of Prythian needed her to be,
Is it a spoiler by now? Just in case, I think even then she was not for him and could not tell him she loved him.. maybe because she did love being safe, fed and taken care of, but there was never a deeper connection?
I also found more love and empathy for Lucien this time around and hope for him to have so many good things after all he went through. Gonna continue with the series and report back!
I ended up liking this book way more than I was expecting.
But it doesn’t mean i didn’t have any problems with it. Most aren’t that serious and didn’t make me enjoy it any less though.
To start the beginning was very slow and I was kind of bored but in a way I see why it was necessary
When the story started to pick up my enjoyment went way up but there were some things that didn’t really make much sense.
Like how she wanted to get back to her family so bad when she didn’t even like them all that much. And the only reason why she wanted to get back to them was because of a promise she made to her mother which she also didn’t care for all that much.
Skipping ahead a little bit to the part when Feyre finds out about the curse. Correct me if I’m wrong but no one told or even hinted at there being a curse they said there was a plague which usually means there is something wiping people out. And don’t even get me started on how specific the curse was my gosh Amarantha
And every one was actually mad at her too like y’all literally told her nothing and if you are giving hints there not very good ones. Some people are a little slow (like my self🤪)
Like dang last time I checked Feyre is not a mind reader.
Out of all the characters I liked Rhysand the best something about his personality. I just love characters like him who are morally gray and have this aloof attitude but they actually care deep down and then they are like obsessed with the way they look. He kind of reminds me of Finn Rider and I love him 🥰
Any character that reminds me of him gets my stamp of approval (so if you have any recommendations let me know)
But even though I like Rhysand I don’t condone anything he did under the mountain I could see he was going through some things and I feel like Ms. Maas could really use him to talk about some touchy subjects (TW: male rape) because even though it’s not specifically stated as such but I really think it was
Now it was the long fingers for me. So Feyre said that she noticed that she had longer fingers when she turned into fae and for some reason I just couldn’t get over the fact that she had long fingers now 🤣
Going into this book I had low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised 4.5 stars⭐️
Lol...third time's the charm? This is the third time I've tried reading this book and the first time I finished it.
The romance could be a little much at times, but I've heard that the next book is better. Otherwise, it was pretty damn good.
I just didn’t feel anything for any of the characters.
Allegedly the entire acotar series is a poorly written rip off of the black jewel series 🤷🏻♀️
Overly obsessed with PTSD

Review soon
I almost didn't finish this one. Found the pacing boring and all the characters cliched. The only somewhat interesting character didn't appear to the very end and the plot also doesn't pick up until the very end. Weird.
