The first got five stars and so did the second. This series did not suffer from the second book sickness! It's lovely with the characters, intriguing because of the "case" and plot and so very engaging and entertaining. Took me a little longer to finish, mostly because I didn't want it to end so soon. I hope there will be a third one but if it does it will most likely not come out before next year.not ready to let the characters go
Delightful! Even better than the first.
About a year ago I read the first book in this series and absolutely fell in love with it. I really don't know why I waited so long to read the next one. But I finally did, and I wasn't disappointed.
This book is just as cute as the first book in the series. We meet again all the characters we got to know well in the first book and it's a bit like meeting good friends. They really are easy to like and you just want to come back to them over and over again.
The plot, as always, is excellent and complicated enough to be really fascinating. The main characters use their old age with real charm when it suits them. Of course, they also use all their life knowledge and skills to solve their problems. I really like how they efficiently use the unique features and skills of individuals in the group. The author was really able to give each character a unique personality.
And I love that kind of humor. I'm not a person who likes or often reads funny books, but this story can really make me laugh. I definitely needed something like this in my life in last weeks.
Now I am faced with a real dilemma - should I read the third book in this series right away and meet these fantastic characters again, or wait a bit and come back to them after some time when I need a story like this again. I’m afraid I'll have to wait some time for the fourth book.
The writing style is quite enjoyable with the characters heavily involved in the complexities of a murder mystery and when their thoughts suddenly spin over to funny personal anecdotes.
