A very good new version of Cinderella. In addition to the setting, add new topics to make the story fresh and new. Upgrade the stepmother character and add interesting characters like the doctor. It improves the relationship between prince and cinderella and the ending is convincing. We will have to see where this is going.

Oddly enough, I liked it better after putting it down and coming back to it. Also, thinking of using this for a unit plan helped me better visualize what I wanted from it.

Ascoltato in versione audiolibro (italiano).

I loved this book. I did not go into it thinking that this was some Cinderella fairytale although so many people compare it to exactly that.

I adored Cinder. I felt that we could understand her from early on and the prince seems likeable enough. I caught on early enough who Cinder really was which I feel lets down the big reveal or maybe we were supposed to know...

I felt that the main conflict of the book was a bit of a cop out compared to what the main series conflict is. I do see how this phase of the story has ended but felt that this series can only get better.

The writing style is no more than expected when this is a young adult novel. Although I feel that at times it was too simple and easy on the readers.

I think I may revisit this book once I obtain the sequel and re evaluate this review.

A Cinderella Retelling!!

Cinder is a cyborg mechanic, one of the best in New Beijing. Cyborgs are not treated good here and often shunned. She is a foster daughter but her foster dad is dead. She is ill treated by her foster mother and sisters except Peony (one of the sisters). But when Peony looses her life to a plague, Cinder's life is turned upside down. She gets to know Kai, the Prince who is the love interest of every girl on the earth. Also Queen Levana of the Lunar (especially her).

As the story progresses, Cinder comes to know the the dark secrets from her past. And suddenly everything revolves around her.

Very simple narration on a retelling but good strong characters. An enjoyable read!!

Happy Reading!!

Exciting and fast paced, "Cinder" was a really great and creative book. The ending was sorta disappointing, but only because I wanted more! I'll definitely be reading the next Lunar Chronicle books.
