Author Darynda Jones alerts readers:

"While the title of the novella is Brighter Than the Sun, it is actually the darkest installment in the series. It is a Reyes’s POV prequel. Please be aware that it is chock full of STRONG and VERY SENSITIVE subject matter."

What this installment lacks in snark and humor, it makes up for in Reyes revelations. Fans of the series know how mysterious Reyes has been not only with Charley, but us as well. This short pulls back the veil a bit on the man behind the hood.

I have died a hundred deaths, but I'm alive. Because of her. Because of her light. Because of her smile. Every time I die, I float toward her, and I am saved. I am healed. Her light soaks into me. Oozes inside me. Fixes all the broken parts

If you've always wanted to know more about Reyes - his "childhood" with Earl and Kim, the birth of his friendship with Amador, how he and Charley met, as well as a bit more about Charley's childhood - this book is for you.

I gave

Brighter than the Sun five stars because Darynda Jones gave me exactly what I'd been hoping for since introducing me to Reyes - answers.
