This first book in a series did definitely made me hooked on the main character Kitty. I didn't have the highest hope for this book but I'm intrigued to continue. I have the tiniest feeling I've read another book in the series but haven't checked yet. Will hopefully continue on with it soon

Kitty and the Midnight Hour is our first look into the life of Kitty Norville. She's a were who can shift at any time, however prefers to only shift when necessary - on the night of the full moon. In her world, shifting outside of the full moon can lead to becoming more wolf than wo/man and she's not about to let that happen.

Kitty hosts the "Midnight Hour" radio show and loves her job. So, when her alpha tells her that talking about the supernatural community, even in a "they may or may not exist, I'm not saying either way" sort of way, she is not a happy camper. The popularity of her show grows and it goes national. This makes her alpha and the vampire master nervous, they don't want to be outed to the public.

However, when the slayer, Cormac, comes after her, live on the air, she is forced to admit she's a werewolf.

Throughout the story, Kitty starts to test the limits of her alpha and the rules of the pack. She's not happy about being submissive, but is grateful for the security they offer.

I liked the introduction of Cormac, the slayer. I hope to see more of him in future books.

The book has some slow bits, but overall I really enjoyed it and will be continuing with the series.
