Who Would Like This Book:

If you love space opera with a hefty dash of found family, heartwarming camaraderie, and a touch of romance, "Conflict of Honors" is bound to charm you. The worldbuilding is rich and immersive - think sentient trees, psychic talents, galactic clans, and a crew you’ll genuinely care about. Fans of character-driven stories, likable heroes, and a vibe that feels like Georgette Heyer in space will find a lot to savor.

Who May Not Like This Book:

Some readers are less enchanted by the frequent point-of-view shifts and omniscient narration, which can be confusing if you prefer clear, grounded perspectives. Others find the characters a bit too wholesome or the heroine too perfect. If you're after gritty realism, hard sci-fi, or tightly plotted technical adventures, this one’s gentler, warmer approach may not be your cup of tea.

A delightful, feel-good space adventure with memorable characters - perfect for readers who want emotion, community, and a little magic mixed with their starships.

But Priscilla is not alone. Starship captain Shan yos'Galan is about to join Priscilla's crusade for revenge. He has his own score to settle with Daxflan. But confronting the sinister crew will be far easier-and safer-than confronting the demons of Priscilla's own mysterious past.

I liked this book but I felt vaguely confused the entire way through. I dunno if I missed a few chapters or something ?? Also the romance was alright, but not amazing. Mostly I enjoyed the setting/worldbuilding.

About the Author:

Maine-based writers Sharon Lee and Steve Miller teamed up in the late 1980s to bring the world the story of Kinzel, an inept wizard with a love of cats, a thirst for justice, and a staff of true power. Since then, the husband and wife have written dozens of short stories and twenty plus novels, most set in their star-spanning Liaden Universe®. Before settling down to the serene and stable life of a science fiction and fantasy writer, Steve was a traveling poet, rock-band reviewer, reporter, and editor of a string of community newspapers. Sharon, less adventurous, has been an advertising copywriter, copy editor on night-side news at a small city newspaper, reporter, photographer, and book reviewer. Both credit their newspaper experiences with teaching them the finer points of collaboration. Sharon and Steve passionately believe that reading fiction ought to be fun, and that stories are entertainment. They maintain a web presence at korval.com.
